Father Sheridan Brick Garden

In order to honor Father Sheridan and those who have walked the halls of SPN long ago, we created a memorial brick garden. The garden is located outside the preschool hall, just east of the school. Alumni, family members, current attendees, and donors alike are welcome to purchase a brick for the garden to celebrate a legacy.

Springfield Visits

Throughout the year, Mr. Williams (3rd/4th) has taken the initiative to lead Our American Voice at SPN. OAV empowers students to better understand the American democratic process as well as how we can be better citizens within our community. OAV students took a field trip to Springfield to collaborate with their peers throughout the state of Illinois and witness a behind-the-scenes look at the Capitol. Following this trip, our middle school students enjoyed touring the Capitol in addition to visiting the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.

Stock Market Program

This year 45 schools participated in the Stock Market Program.  The winners of this year’s Stock market Program are the 8th graders of St. Philip Neri School, led by Charlie Bobrinskoy, Vice Chairman, Ariel Investments, L.L.C.   The students end investments totaled $4,653.69.  The Stock Market Project provides the opportunity for our eighth grade students to learn about the financial markets, personal savings and investing concepts, and careers within the financial industry. The students were congratulated at a Big Shoulders Fund Board Meeting held at the Union League Club and received a trophy.  They also attended a workshop at the University of Chicago Booth Gleacher Center for presentations on investors meetings, inside trading and careers in the financial sector.  This program provides a modest financial incentive to the school and the students based on their portfolio performance.

Summer Learning

SPN students love to learn.  Our Summer Sylvan Enrichment Program ensures students don’t experience academic slide and also engaging in fun activities such as Robotics, Coding, and gardening.  Students will also have opportunities to visit a Chicagoland Museum to extending their learning.
