Parents and legal guardians have the legal right to examine the school records of their children. The school must have at least one week’s notice of the intent to examine records.
Saint Philip Neri School abides by the provisions of the Buckley Amendment with respect to the rights of non-custodial parents or guardians. In the absence of a court order to the contrary, a non-custodial parent or guardian will not be provided access to the academic records and other school-related information regarding the child. If there is an official court order, it is the responsibility of the custodial parent or guardian to provide it to be kept in the student’s file.
Parents and guardians are urged to keep their own files and records of school communications and activities with regard to school activities and procedures, academic, financial and health-related records. This practice will enhance communication between the home and the school.
The pastor, principal and school staff take great care to assure the confidentiality of all student and family personal information. All are expected to maintain that same spirit of confidentiality and respect. |
